Therapeutic Massage

The field of therapeutic massage and bodywork draws from touch therapies of both Western and non-Western traditions. The massage therapist incorporates knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology to address soft tissue dysfunctions, stress related conditions and energy imbalances. Therapeutic massage promotes relaxation, pain relief, rehabilitation and general wellness.

A therapeutic massage at Bridges to Wellness is currently for women only. It will focus on addressing your unique needs and wellness goals and will include one or more of the following areas: your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders. A warm oil appropriate to your needs and concerns will be used to facilitate the massage movement.

After checking if there are any recent concerns not addressed during the consultation, the therapist will leave the room so that you can disrobe to your level of comfort. You will then get on the table under the provided cover and relax, face up or face down, as indicated by the therapist.

You will be draped at all times – only the area being worked on will be exposed. When the session is complete, the therapist will leave the room so that you can get dressed. Sit up slowly and make sure to drink plenty of water.

NOTE: Each Wellness Treatment requires that the client first complete a thorough initial consultation, unless the client is being referred for a specific treatment from another health practitioner.
